We stayed in Hilton Olympia in Kensington, London for a period of five days in the end of June 2017. We booked ourselves a double bedroom with a king sized bed and a en-suite bathroom. The room also featured a small desk and working area. The bed was spacious and comfortable. We had a minibar but it wasn’t filled. The bathroom was equipped with all the necessary shower creams and shampoos and it was very clean and spacious. The hotel cleaned our room every day and its staff was very kind and understanding of our needs. The lobby and reception area were very modern and recently renovated and featured modern furniture. However, the rooms needed renovation and were a bit dated. There is a seating area near the reception of the Hilton Olympia in Kensington, where one could wait and sit but also there is a restaurant besides the area for breakfast where one could have lunch or dinner, or simply work.
We had breakfast included in our package and it was served from 7 to 10:30 most days. The breakfast was quite pleasant as it had various options to choose from. There were fruit stands as well as sweet and savory foods like croissants and pastries along with food like sausages and traditional English breakfast. There was also a smoothie and fresh juices stand. The service was excellent as all staff aimed to create a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere.
This Hilton hotel in London is situated near the supermarket Sainsbury and a lot of restaurants as well. This permits one to dine and shop necessities and snacks. One of the places that I would recommend for dining is located right across the street and offers Asian food and sushi. It is a marvelous place to have some food and wine or sake.
The location of the hotel Hilton Olympia is also great as it permits one to get to the city centre very fast. For instance, one can reach the centre using buses 9 and 10 and also by underground transport which, unfortunately, is located at a 10-15 minute walk or a couple of stops by bus. Kensington is a very pleasant and luxurious neighbourhood in London where one can explore many sights. One of them is Hyde park where Albert memorial is located. Furthermore, Kensington gardens is also located close to Hilton as well as Holland park which are perfect for an afternoon walk.
If you happen to pass through London, hotel Hilton Olympia in Kensington, would be a great place to stay!
